

Dr. Dennis Lowenthal

Dr. Lowenthal obtained his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his Medical and Hematology training at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in New York and subsequent Oncology training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he was appointed Chief Fellow in Medical Oncology. Dr. Lowenthal currently is the Medical Director of the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Overlook Medical Center. He serves as Chairman of the hospital’s Cancer Committee and Cancer Center Executive Committee, as well as serving as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Lowenthal has had a long-standing interest in lung cancer and chairs the hospital’s Thoracic Oncology tumor board. He serves as the Principal Investigator heading the Nivolumab clinical trial at Overlook Medical Center, the first immunotherapy approved for the treatment of lung cancer.
